I was watching this TED video where this guy talks about his struggle with depression and how, for him, it essentially boiled down to having an existential crisis. At first I was dismissive (and slightly jealous that this guy only suffered for six months, found his calling and miraculously overcame it, while I’ve been here fighting the good fight for about 15 years now). But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense that such a disparity between our conscious and subconscious minds trying to find the answer may play a part in the depressive cycle.
